The Good DoctorThe Good DoctorDr. Lester E. Fisher devoted 45 years to the zoo--15 as a consulting veterinarian and 30 as the zoo's director. He established an oasis for animals and people in the heart of Chicago and secured a strong foundation for the zoo's future. In recognition of his service to the city of Chicago and his commitment to lowland gorillas and all wildlife, the Great Ape House was renamed in his honor.
